A little bit about me

 

​​​Welcome to 1-Voice Counselling.​ My name is Zara.

My path into counselling grew from my own lived experiences. Like many people, I've faced painful chapters, that at times, have challenged me deeply. Through my own healing Journey, I've discovered how powerful it can be to have a space where you feel truly heard, understood, and supported without judgment. 

This experience inspired me to train professionally as a counsellor, so that I can offer this kind of space to others. As a person-centred therapist, I believe that every individual has the capacity to heal and grow when met with empathy, respect, and genuine understanding. 

 

My approach is calm, compassionate, and rooted in my belief that your voice matters. - and that together, we can work towards a deeper sense of self trust, inner peace and emotional well-being.

Outside of my work as a counsellor, I value time for creativity, reflection, and ongoing personal growth. I'm naturally curious about life and the deeper meaning behind our experiences- what shapes us, connects us, and enables us to find our way back to ourselves. Whether that's through reading, writing, creative expression, real and open conversations, or continued professional development and learning. 

What does my work look like? 

I work with people facing a range of life challenges, including Greif, Bereavement, depression, anxiety and panic, OCD, Addiction, and the impact on trauma, such as domestic abuse. I also integrate somatic experiencing, which gently supports the body's natural wisdom in processing and releasing what feels too heavy to carry alone. 

Counselling with me is not about labels or fitting into boxes- its about seeing you as a whole and unique person. I follow your at your pace, your needs, and capacity in each moment. Whether you are navigating deep grief, untangling the impact of abuse, or seeking calm from constant anxiety, together we will create a space where healing can unfold safely. I also offer quality Psychoeducation tailored to the unique individual and their need along the way. This creating a deeper understanding of themselves and their experiences. 

I offer a free 15-minute call - a chance for us to chat, ask questions, and see if working together feels right for you.

Walk and Talk

Walk and talk sessions offer an alternative to traditional indoor or online counselling- combining gentle movement for the body whilst we explore what is coming up for you on a deeper level. These sessions can take place in agreed locations and are ideal if you find it easier to talk while walking.

Home visits 

Home visits are available for those who are unable to attend face to face sessions or online due to health, mobility, or other personal circumstances. Home visits are offered locally and arranged on a case by case basis.
